Developing Innovative AI-Powered Training for Teachers
- AI in Education: We develop cutting-edge AI tools to support multilingual classrooms, enhance individualized learning, and simplify teaching workflows.
- AI-Based Translation Tool Babylon: Breaking down language barriers, our tool enables seamless communication among educators and students across Europe.
- Digital Learning Portfolio: A comprehensive collection of AI-driven teaching resources, lesson plans, and best practices tailored for primary schools.
Providing A Two-Stage European Training Program
- Online Learning – An interactive course covering the technological, pedagogical, and ethical aspects of AI and digital media in primary education.
- School-Based Practice – Hands-on training in real classrooms, using Erasmus+ mobility programs to connect teachers across seven European countries.
International Collaboration & Research

May 2025Kickoff Meeting in EichstättSmartStart European Teacher Academy Launches in Eichstätt – A New Chapter for European Teacher Education Eichstätt, May 18, 2025 – From May 16 to 18, 2025, the historic university town of Eichstätt welcomed educators, researchers, and institutional leaders from across Europe to celebrate the official Kick-Off Meeting of the SmartStart European Teacher Academy. This groundbreaking initiative brings together partners from Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Norway, and Sweden, united by a shared mission: to modernize and internationalize teacher education for a multilingual, inclusive, and AI-informed future.
- 12. December 2024SmartStart Teacher Academy approved for ERASMUS+ fundingA European teacher academy is to be established at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) in the coming years. With its concept of focusing on artificial intelligence and bringing several international partners on board, the KU prevailed against more than a hundred competitors in an EU tender, according to a statement issued by the KU on Thursday.
